Not going to happen. Your favorite PN Partnership has a couple of 2 year olds that have a chance to make it big before the end of the year. Remember Our Khrysty. $25k purchase; $300k earnings; sold for $600k. Nice ROI

You should see the ROI on the rest of their horses. ROI is not a big factor in decisions. Taking part in ownership and enjoying the experience is what they're all about.

I disagree. I am in this business to make money and over the last 40-50 years have a net profit. I attribute some of it to luck; some of it to affiliating with the right people; some of it to spotting horses where they can win; and most of it to knowing when to quit on a horse that isn't going to make it.

Right now I have a 2 yo in training. My instructions to my trainer is not to run him until he has a shot to win the race. If that means starting him in Mdn $5,000, that is ok. If that means never starting him, that too is ok.

IMO the place Owners make their biggest mistake is running for the sake of running rather than running to win!

I think you misunderstand my point. I completely, 100% agree with you.

I'm just saying that in the partnership being discussed, ROI is not taken into account. Knowing when to quit is vastly under-rated imo, and it's not just about having a pretty horse to go visit. It's a business and should be treated that way.
