Jim Taylor

A melancholy farewell to one of the greatest Fighting Tigers of them all.
Forever LSU !!!

RIP

He used to have lunch with us at Phil's Oyster Bar on Fridays, can unequivocally say he was the nicest man you could ever meet. The locals here are losing too many football heroes with Y.A. Title, Billy Cannon and now Jimmy leaving us. Sad day.

"Taylor rushed for 8,207 yards and scored 91 touchdowns in his nine seasons with the Packers from 1958 to '66, and he was the first of the Vince Lombardi-era players to be inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1976."

Chuck Bednarik was so tough, when he was in his mid 70's, he was awakened several mornings by a construction crew building a house next to his. This went on several days in a row even after he asked them not to start so early. Finally he went over in his pajamas and decked the bulldozer operator. The dozer operator was Chuck Norris.

RIP Jim and Chuck.

I believe that Instant Replay is the goat of sports books, and I admire Jerry Kramer. But he treated Jim Taylor cruelly in the sequel ( Distant Replay), and disclosed things that should have stayed private.
