I can pretty much confirm rumor that P. Val set to ride at Del Mar
I was just as shocked as everyone else, but this is from a very reliable source.

Geez, i don't know what to say, i thought i was rid of this guy, but no, he's like Jason, he just keeps coming.
Just another reason to stay away from Death mar (as Jerry Jam likes to call it).

Bob you can't possibly be serious. If you are well that will make for an interesting story to say the least.

Hey, Del Mar's gotta do something to keep pace with Monmouth.
They're not getting Rachel Alexandra and they'll be lucky to get Zenyatta.
This must be Plan C.

Just another reason to not be that excited about the upcoming meeting. A third rate jockey, riding third rate horses over a third rate surface in a bottom of the barrel state.

Del Mar is about the worst place on the planet for Pat V. to go. It's a party atmosphere and he's not going to get the mounts he expects to get. It's a recipe for self destruction and he can't afford it.
I hope he does Ok but I'm not optimistic.

Good points. But, i guess he realizes he has unlimted chances, so he'll party like a rockstar.

P.Val...a racing tragedy
P Val is one of the saddest stories in modern US horse racing.
A gifted rider, it was hard to find a better gate rider, when in his prime.
He got the best out of most horses he rode, and he was strong in a finish.
Now, added to his all his other problems, is a battle with weight.
I haven't watched him much lately, but he can't be as good as before.
I really doubt that he will get on many live mounts at Del Mar.
Too bad....but he caused his own problems.
He has had more comeback chances than Steve Howe.
When I think of P.Val, I tend to just shake my head.
You think of him riding so well, and then your thoughts stray to what might have been.
What a waste of a great talent.....

I have watch his career all his entire life, I have saw his up and downs, he is not a very smart man, however, he had talent.
I think when he shows up for Del mar, he will not get the mounts. What trainer will trust him with their horse.
Only time will tell and lets see what happens.

he will get mounts. for some reason every time he comes back somebody hands him the reins to a horse............never understood it, but he will get mounts.

People who aren't interested in winning will hand the reigns to P Val. They'll say, "hey, he's P Val, how bad can he be? Pat at 50% is better than most others at 100"
That's what they're going to say, Time will tell if they are right.
