Merkel Mandate

Party almost gains an absolute majority too.

I expect further economic separation between northern and southern EU nations.

Merkel could be out this week?

Its interesting right now...

A key difference between American politics and those of our parliamentary counterparts is the stability and the intended inefficiency of our system.

You have a fractured government because you have a fractured conservative wing that has one of its key parties currently fractured.

Interesting stuff to watch.

Oh there's some fractured stuff out there alright...

CSU leadership isn't supported in this move by the majority of the party.

However other segments of the other conservative parties support the gridlock...

It will interesting as I don't think dissolving the government is really in anybody's best interest. If they hold an election and the conservatives win yet again but are unable to form a government.... then what?

Interesting to watch though you'd think there is a compromise in there somewhere.

Both sides stalling but it appears Seehofer is backing down...

He'll win concessions for his party with this maneuver over the next couple of days though for sure...

Seehofer delays resignation, gives Merkel 3-day deadline

Yes, the DNC that attacks its own primary candidates would qualify.
And the stampede of those trying not to be associated with Hillary.
And the general leadership that puts politics ahead of country by refusing to negotiate anything with a president trying to fix things - bette to safe it all for the mid-terms.

Yes, the lying, cheating DNC is not only fractured, it is outright broken and out of touch.

I wasn't referring to partisanship... just that the way our government is structured makes it very inefficient and that was done on purpose.

Party wise... yes both parties are fractured right now. The Democrats are super listless at the moment though so there's that!
