Forcing Americans to buy electric cars

davew 12-13-2021 12:14 PM

Does anyone have experience with electric cars in cold environments?

When it is 30 degrees below zero, do they function similar to gasoline?

Electric car tax credit is just another break for the rich, just like in the late 2000s under Bush & Obama.

"Golfers in the US are getting a steal thanks to the stimulus plan. Golf carts are getting massive discounts, up to half or two-thirds off, and some cheaper models can be completely free."

https://nachodonut.wordpress.com/200...cart-loophole/

I remember Mike Huckabee admitting that he used a loophole to get five free golf carts.

When they stop lighting people's houses on fire, I might consider them....

Maybe our good VP should put that money towards making them safer...instead of bribing people to buy "ol' SPARKY"

Automakers including General Motors, Audi and Hyundai have recalled electric vehicles over fire risks in recent years and have warned of the associated dangers.

Chevrolet last year advised owners not to charge their vehicles overnight or keep their fully charged vehicles in garages. It recalled more than 60,000 of its Bolt electric vehicles over concerns about the cars spontaneously combusting while parked with full batteries or charging, after reports of five fires without prior impact damage. The company issued another recall last month covering the same vehicles after two reports of battery fires in repaired vehicles.

“We don’t think every vehicle has this rare manufacturing defect,” General Motors spokesman Dan Flores said. “But we can’t take a chance, so we’re recalling all the vehicles.”

Logistics question.

How will it take to charge a car?
How many cars in NYC on any given day?
How many charging stations can be made available?

Will electric cars have peddles?

They certainly need to improve the technology before I consider an electric car. They are useless for any long trips unless you want to spend twice as long traveling.

But I think they will make those improvements

All they gotta do is put a solar panel or two on top of the roof of a car, and that should give everyone a few extra miles -- well...at least on sunny days. :coffee:

Bullshit, after they milk people to death something new that will not even be electric but waste everyone's time and money first.

And in the process save zero energy. In fact, we might actually consume more energy.:lol:

I can buy a personal EV charging station for a mere $300 from China.

Especially without a mask.

classhandicapper 12-13-2021 07:48 PM

How we are going to generate all the extra electric power so people can power all these extra cars?

It would not shock me if it's mostly fossil fuels and at the end of the day we use more dirty energy than we saved.
