It was scheduled that way for last week and this week. Full schedule resumes next week.

Saratoga racing hangover is my guess. Shipping back down state and many horses who raced twice or more during the meet likely has resulted in poor betting fields the last x amount of years. So IMO this is a wise decision.

They re-painted the turf courses and the paint was slow to dry due to humid weather.

Belmont open 3 days a week

my undertanding is the track attendance on Saturday was about 100

Ushers and track personnel threatened to go on strike if this scenario
continued.
