Bridgejumper burned by a Paint
 

Small stakes for Paints & Appaloosas at Remington Park Friday night. Painted Turnpike was 12 for 12 the past two years and 1-2 favorite. Threw his head at the start and missed third by a nose. Logical second choice Dtl Samureye paid $7.20 to win, $4.80 to place and $65 to show! Second place horse at 22-1 paid only $40.80 to show and third place horse at 13-1 paid $37.40.

Interesting story about the race, its history and the person its named after.

Anyone bridgejumping on quarter horse distance races hates money.

The race was 350 yards. Hardly long distance.

I have to work on my phrasing :)

What I meant to say quarter horse-distance races (ie, 220-440 yards, typical qh distances), not quarter horse distance races.

To add insult to injury, friends of the bridgejumper have started calling him Benjamin Moore.
