Minimum # of Races before handicapping a Horse?

Does a horse have to have 1, 3, 5 or 10 races before you do your handicapping of that horse?

Define what you mean by handicapping? Generating some magic number to estimate a horse's chances to win based on its prior races OR considering ALL factors that lead to selecting winners?

For me, the minimum is ZERO, as first-time starters win often enough to be relevant. My preferred number of races is ONE - I do very well with second-time starters in maiden races.

I love 1st time starters.
2nd time starters next.

I like to see at least 3 races. I don't play MDNS. Don't do well with them.
