Peter Pan - Gr3
Main idea is to beat the Cox chalk #9 Bishops Bay, who looked great breaking his maiden but struggled to win his next race (vs another Cox runner I believe) at FG.
Barn skipped the Lexington and then the Pat Day Mile on Derby day. Has obvious credentials but worth taking a shot against imo off the so-so last race.
I'll do that with the #1 Arcangelo and #5 Classic Catch for Pletcher, who ran a pretty good race in the Wood. Swerved out into the first turn to avoid possible trouble when runners bunched up in front of him, then went way wide around the far turn before putting in a nice stretch run. Blinkers on may get him involved earlier, and Irad in the irons is a positive (but will hurt his price). Has the look of a colt who's slowly coming to hand and may have a big figure type race in him. Hopefully today's the day.
Arcangelo ran a very fast race by my HumNums last out at GP that puts him in win contention. No lasix today but he's worked steadily and has nice breeze at Belmont.
