Pearl Jam Don't Like Trump

Who figured?

Trump Derangement Syndrome in action.

The thing is, PJ was pretty vehement in their disdain for George Bush, I know this will go over most left wing heads here, but, all this anti-Trump shit, we don't care because y'all laid down the gauntlet years ago.

Shut up and play the song Ringo!

Pearl Jam - they had a hit in, what, 1983? 84?

I wonder if Trump listens to music?

He probably likes a nice polka and a good marching band.
Sprinkled with some Sinatra, Al Martino, and a little Perry Como.

Wadayathink?

Actually, never listened to them before.
More of a jazz and classical fan.

But I think I can dance to it. When I oil up my walker.

Are Dave Brubeck and Steely Dan something we both agree on?

Love Pearl Jam.

Then again, I never look to musicians to give me political guidance.

Still like U2. Still like Billy Joel. Still like Elton John. Still like The Boss.

They can disagree with me all day politically. No shit's given here.

I can still enjoy their music.

10. Still one of the best albums of all time. :headbanger:

I thought they were Neil Young's back up band while Crazy Horse was on hiatus. I also like a lot of artists whose politics differ from mine, including NY.

Bob Dylan is an interesting case. He played the hippie/liberals until he got popular. As he said, "I got my foot in the door and they weren't getting me out". The documentary No Direction Home covered his rise to fame in detail, including the scene at the Newport Folk Festival in 1965. Dave Van Ronk talks about Dylan being totally apolitical. No interest whatsoever.

I like Pear Jam and Neil is the man. The album they did together is quite good though Id rather have the Horse. PJ while under the radar to some have a huge following and their concerts selk out quickly.

But part of the point of posting that is to blow up supposed unique hatred of Trump whereas in reality Bush was eviscerated as well by many. Call it Repub derangement syndrome, Trump just washes his balls i n the inevitable hatred.

Yes, they were a "one-hit" wonder.

I don't like Trump, but I also don't want to hear about politics at a concert. Vedder has been commenting on/promoting leftist causes and criticizing GOP policies for years, though. Therefore, I'm not sure the band's Trump imagery/comments are an example of "Trump Derangement Syndrome." What is that anyway? To this day, Tom can't help but go bonkers at the mention of Obama. Does that make Tom deranged? Ok, I probably just defeated my own point.
