As discussed a while back in the thread about PA wanting to take all casino revenue away from Parx, 80% of their purse funding is from casino revenue. That number sounds and is insane, but it's also true. So you can debate being struck by lightning or any other ridiculous analogies all you want---you can even think it's the most perfect analogy and the testing is perfect and everything is perfect---but as I posted weeks ago, IF THE CASINOS AREN'T FUNDING PARX, PARX DOES NOT EXIST. This isn't Saratoga or Del Mar or Keeneland or any track that is actually successful. Parx does not exist without casino money, and the casino is closed and will stay closed for now unless the rules in PA are greatly relaxed.

To add on, why would they demonstrate operability without their precious slot welfare in a state where the governor has openly called for its defunding? There really is no debate here.

My understanding is that when the law was written allowing casinos originally they (racing and casinos) couldn't be decoupled; so taking their funding would be breaking the law.

Until the governor, Tom Wolf, gives as posted below, all PA tracks stay closed

"Green"

"The green phase eases most remaining restrictions to allow the economy to reopen while continuing to prioritize public health. Public health indicators will continue to be monitored, with restrictions implemented as necessary to ensure the spread of disease remains at a minimum.

All businesses open, but following CDC/Department of Health guidelines
Individuals must follow CDC/Department of Health guidelines
Remaining aggressive mitigation orders lifted"

You'll find corruption at every track if you look hard enough. Sometimes you don't even need to look hard at all. I hope Parx keeps going. The more horse racing the better
