$24 tri if my math is correct. Will make changes once surface conditions are known.

Upon further review after scratches. Ex. And tri.

Since I can't make up my mind, I'm going to pick based on pedigree: Night Ops, Chase the Ghost, or Roiland.

The 7 Roiland is an interesting horse. He's a closer has rising speed figs (bris). Last race was in slop at Churchill where he broke slow and that was that.Amoss adds blinkers and his last two works are sharp. Worth a shot at 12-1 ml.

War of Will gets the Derby points . . .

War of Will, nice lookin' big colt . . . I don't believe Gaffaliione brought the whip out on him. That was a pretty easy win, this guy here has got some talent.

Gets the Derby points . . .

Time:
24.33; 49.22; 1:14.63; 1:39.50; 1:43.44

Sometimes those War Front's take to the dirt.
War of Will sure did.
The Factor{for Baffert}comes to mind.
AOB used to try some really nice War Front's on the dirt for Coolmore…....he must of had a clue.

he sure looks like a good mover. Don't think a Lecomte winner has ever won the derby, but a lot of rules/trends went out the window w/Justify

I had the :7: and he tanked. My box with with :8: was no help. The KY Jockey Club didn't show its class in this test. The :8: had the Breeders Cup class of the race once the :4: scratched. I'm sure War of Will will get some fans after the easy looking win but those 1/2 and 3/4 raw fractions are quite slow, granted the track was likely a bit slow from the get-go. Equibase did score it a strong 107 which is the highest Equibase figure ever given for the Lecomte. I don't perceive it that strong. Another chalk I'll try and beat in a 9F prep. The :13: might be a decent bet back play.

Ended up doing OK. Got a good enough exacta, tri was there also but I do not play them. :6: was a non-threatening place horse. :8: was by far the best today.

Pace was real slow...was expecting more steam on the front end but with the off track :8: had it his way.

Noticed that Lanerie hopped off :6: Hog Creek Hustle for the :10: Chase the Ghost.

Was it because he had more experience with the trainer Dallas Stewart?

i would not guess too much without an actual quote from the connections. could be many reasons, the trainer connection being just one of them.

Wynn Time ran 6F in the Duncan Kenner in 1:10.78 per equibase, the race immediately after the Lecomte.

Wynn Time ran multiple races in 1:09 and change at the FG in Jan/Feb 2018 on good and fast tracks. He has never ran over 1:09 4/5 for 6F at the Fairgrounds in 5 previous attempts. He basically ran 6-8 lengths slower than he usually runs at the FG's.

So if the track was 6-8 lengths slower at 6F, so it was 9 to 11 lengths slower at a 1-70 yards? That puts WOW at 1:41 and change for a 1-70 yards-not bad in January
