The Pulitzer Prize self-destructs

The Pulitzer Prize has destroyed any credibility it may have had.

Do you think this is the first year that the NYT and WaPo have won Pulitzer Prizes?

Both publications have won dozens of them going back many decades. This ain't new.

Or was is it just this year that they weren't deserving?

Tom 04-18-2018 12:50 PM

Duh.
THIS year they both were an embarrassment to journalism.

Like the Nobel people who gave 0bama the PEACE prize, for doing nothing at the time, but who then went out and destabilized Libya, created ISIS, gave nukes and money to Iran, and supported the takeover of Egypt by a terrorist organization.

All the while getting praised by the two fishwrappers.

Gee, ya think?

They got a prize for a clearly partisan non-story that has morphed into public hysteria and an endless, pointless, highly expensive government witch hunt. Some genuine journalistic investigation should have cut the story short long ago.

Can you point to any substantive contacts between Russia and Trump's team other than Flynn and that weird Trump Tower meeting with Don Jr? I presume Flynn was just doing his job as a transition team member when he did so.

Wow, Trump/Russia is a "partisan non story"??

I dunno. Seems like it might be slightly more than that.

Some of the highlights:

Quote:

The Post’s Russia stories contained several startling revelations: that Michael Flynn, Trump’s designated national security adviser, had discussed lifting U.S. sanctions on Russia with Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak during the presidential transition period, potentially in violation of the law; that acting attorney general Sally Yates had told the White House that Flynn had misled senior officials, including Vice President Pence, about his Russia contacts, making him vulnerable to Russian blackmail; that attorney general-designee Jeff Sessions failed to disclose two conversations with Kislyak when asked about contacts during his confirmation hearing; and that Trump revealed secret intelligence to Kislyak and Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov in an Oval Office meeting in May. The newspaper also published a lengthy account of President Barack Obama’s struggle to retaliate against Russian President Vladimir Putin’s interference during the 2016 campaign, and explored Trump’s unwillingness to confront the issue of Russian election interference.

The news about Sessions’s undisclosed encounters prompted him to recuse himself in March from an investigation of Russia’s election conduct. Sessions then appointed his deputy, Rod J. Rosenstein, to oversee the investigation. The New York Times subsequently reported that notes taken by ousted FBI director James B. Comey recounted a conversation in which Trump urged Comey to drop an investigation of Flynn. That led Rosenstein to appoint Robert S. Mueller III as special counsel last year.

Throughout it all, Trump denounced The Post’s and Times’s reporting about Russia as “fake news.”

That pretty much sums it all up.
Trump, he very smart man!

See post #6 by Fantastic Dan. And that is just the tip of the iceberg. George Papadopoulous has admitted to meeting with Russians to get dirt on Hillary Clinton. Paul Manofort has extensive ties to Russia. Jared Kushner and Ivanka Trump are known to have met with Russian officials in Kiev. It is documented that Russian Oligarchs purchased Trump owned real estate for far above market value.

Stop reading Breitbart, Hot air and Drudge. Stop watching Fox News. Start reading the Washington Post and The New York Times. Start watching MSNBC.

Maybe then we can stop thinking you are an ignorant fool.

Please provide documentation showing that any of the above, as stated, are illegal.
