Gladys Knight: Prop Bet

Gladys Knight is singing our National Anthem. The over-under on this prop bet is 1:47. I say she goes over.

Gladys Knight sang the National Anthem in 1991. That was over 25 years ago. I timed her at 1:40. Yet, "The Empress of Soul" is now 74-years old. Will that make her delivery slower? What impact will the crowd and millions watching on TV have? She does hang onto "...of the brave". At her advanced age, how long can she do that?

Final comment: If Gladys Knight can still sing the National Anthem "soulfully" like Jennifer Hudson did ten years earlier in Tampa, she'll definitely go over.

I heard Gladys sing in a private concert last year in Palm Springs. She hasn't lost a step.

The Pips were seen earlier today making large bets. The fix is in. :D

I look at it this way. When you get into your 70s (Gladys Knight is 74), you usually can't speak (deliver a song as rapidly). Physiologically: deeper breaths. I think that could be the case. Oh, by the way, The Pips were not seen betting as first reported; they were making "squeaks".

All I can say is that if you nail it, it's a great way to start the evening.

I imagine the linemakers have that all taken into account. These are not dumb guys. Have to believe there's better places to risk money than on wagers like the national anthem or the coin toss.

They should make her walk from end zone to end zone while singing and see what happens first: finish the walk or the song.

NFL must change.

:lol::lol:

Do I dare suggest that Gladys Knight is lip-syncing this? If so, someone must know.

Problem with that is some hyped up player might think the game's started and tackle her. :D

As soon as she's in the far end zone, Brady throws her a TD. :lol:

Props to her standing up and appearing instead of buckling to the protests of idiots. Hope this spurs her sales!

Her voice sounded as great as it did 50 years ago! One of the first '45 rpms I bought when I was a teenager was one of hers.
