Those percentages are absolutely meaningless in the real world. The only thing that matters is what you can do with the money you don’t pay in taxes.

But if you are ultra wealthy and earn in excess of $10,000,000 per year. You save more than $611,000 on your tax bill. You can buy a house in the Chicago suburbs or a small yacht, or put a deposit on a vanity seat on a space shuttle.


There is no justice in any tax reform that cuts the tax burden on the wealthy. They have been paying too little for too long. They must pay more.

Tell that to the lawmakers and the IRS. Percentages is what the progressive tax system is all about. It's a given that lower income brackets will always receive fewer actual dollar benefits than higher income brackets.

Thank you. You just proved me right. Any percentage of $10,000 is less than that same percentage of $100,000. Similarly, when you start with less income, any tax reduction benefits less.

The stats don't back up your statement. If the filthy rich make 40% of the US income how much of the US tax should they pay? What is their fair share?

Look, I drive down into Westford, Massachusetts all the time and some of the houses are really something. I never once said they should be paying more, just not me. I do think rich folks are paying more or much more than I, my example of the shell game is what I really believe so I post it.
