If you enter someone's private property illegally you deserve all that's coming to you....everything from "would you please leave my property" up to and including "bang!"
People have the right to protect their property.

They broke the lock on the gate and entered, yelling threats to the homeowners, then eventually broke the gate. Breaking and entering deserves to be met with deadly force.

Yes, after they broke the lock off the gate and trespassed on peoples property they came on peoples lawns yelling threats.
