This will happen very fast, John McCain will call the Governor of Arizona and Senate Leader Mitch McConnell.

Two observations about this thread so far:

1) He's not dead yet.

2) The concern for McCain's condition is pretty underwhelming, actually it's non-exsistent.I suppose someone will come up with excuses for this tone..

Hoping Senator McCain can fight through this.

Story about McCain. I was in Vegas for a Del a Hoya fight years ago. I was playing craps at Mandalay Bay. McCain comes up is right next to me. I make small talk and we play for about 2 hours. I finally say hey my parents are huge fans of yours and they will not believe this story. McCain asks me for my moms number and calls her and explains that he's shooting dice with her son. My mom kept his number and when he ran for prez she tried calling him to offer support hahahahaha. Anyway I hate to hear about his health issue. But he needs to retire and should have retired years ago. Nice guy tho.

I feel he is too stubborn and will hold his seat until he dies.

I think he will want to pass his seat in the United States Senate to the Governor of Arizona to appoint his successor ASAP, his time to hand pick one is over. I also think he ran the last time to safeguard and keep in republican hands. He completed that task.

The country wants to hear from Senator McCain personally, after that we can express thoughts. The Senator as usual will be plain spoken laying out his intentions, everyone here will support him how they can once they hear him.

I'm not a McCain fan but he has served and sacrificed for this country for many decades.

I wish him well and hope for the best.

So sorry to disappoint some people, but I just saw an interview with a specialist in NYC who said that it depends on the area where the cancer is, but if there are positive results in tests, Mr. McCain may recover enough to resume his duties in the Senate, maybe in a short period of time.
Surprising , that being the typical age of the people who post here, there haven't been more wishes for his recovery. Hopefully some day you guys don't find yourselves in the same situation. :(

i met McCain on a crap table in Nassau 20 years ago. the man loved the action and loves horse racing.

i am sure everyone here is wishing him a speedy recovery and the best for him and his family.

most people here are real good humans in real life and do the right thing all the time.

I'm sure most here wish him well, so the admonishments are a little much. If someone doesn't mean something to someone personally, issuing condolences is nothing more than a polite formality. The assumption should be that we all are decent enough to not wish awful things on someone whether or not we issue the polite formality.
