Santa Anita field 12-31
Santa Anita should be embarrassed with the field size of the New Years eve card.
Fields of 4, 6, 7, 4, 4, 6, 5, 6 and :13:, the last being a bottom maiden claiming event. Six maidens, two optional claimers and one 32k claiming race with a 4 horse field. Racing at Santa Anita is circling the drain which considering Baffert and the CHTB may not be a bad idea.

It's tough right now with the weather.
No general defense of Santa Anita, which has carded a lot of lousy races over the last few years, but this is a particularly difficult situation. |

I bet SoCal exclusively and this is the worst card that Santa Anita has ever had in the month of December. |

I do not understand the carding process, vs recent weather.
When I just look at today's card, it was relatively bad before the scratches. |

One of my old hobbyhorses is we should have gone to one circuit instead of two after HOL closed. |
