Arlington outing 2016
 

Wondering if there is interest. Thinking Sat June 25 (subject to my wife telling me that date won't work...LOL)

I'd love to spend some time in Chicago but it would be Arlington Million time for me. The racing otherwise is just so bad these days.

Saturday card not usually too bad. Plus a beautiful track...and they have simulcasting.

Since I am the one who sent you a PM wondering if you were planning anything this year, I guess I better say that I am interested. And I am.

Saturday June 25 would work for me. Sometime in June or July me and three friends will be taking a Hot Air Balloon ride. The date is up in the air, but since I am the one who won the ride in a silent auction, I can nix the 25th for that. (I just realized what I wrote. The date for the balloon ride is up in the air.)

So, Chicago and Wisconsin guys, let's see if we can get this to work. Thaskalos, Wisconsin, Stuball, you fellas interested? How about ArlJim78, Illinoisbred or Capper Al? Any interest from folks farther away?

Right now it looks like a one day event, but if we get enough interest from those living at a distance we could probably expand to the entire weekend.
I could host on Friday and/or Sunday if JD is unable.

The Arlington Million weekend is too difficult for a group like ours to deal with.

I am only about an 1 hour and a half away so I'm in, if ya let me....lol.

I think it unlikely that we could get seating even now for Arlington Million weekend, so that was pretty much a non starter. Glad to hear you can make it in June or July.

You're certainly welcome, unless you are an hour and a half away into Wisconsin. We already have two from Wisconsin and that is way over our quota.

But I need to push this into July (after consultation with the Mrs - June is a mess) - figure not the first weekend (July 4th). Thinking 7/16, 7/23 or 7/30. Preferences?

I have one family obligation that will be a conflict...think I can move it around some (not yet set)

The change from June to July is not a problem for me and any of the July dates would work. I usually go to Arlington with some friends from the neighborhood in July, but we always go on a Thursday.

To summarize; right now four people who have attended previously have expressed interest, JD Hanover, Capper Al, Wisconsin, and Mostpost. A fifth person, who would be new to the event has also expressed interest. That would be deueler 9. Let's hope we don't scare him away in the meantime.

Hopefully we can add more later. It may be early for some to commit.

Agree...it is early for some to commit. Not a rush. Easy enough to get a table or two outside most weekends.

But it does sound like we will be a go. Just the date is TBD. Stay tuned here!
