Runs Thursday in R9 at Belmont at 1m16 on turf (if the rains hold off).
His first race off the shelf looked like a pure prep going 7f. McCarthy seemed like he was just getting some work in. Stayed covered up inside until the stretch when he was steered out, got pinched a bit, and was hand ridden home while making up a little ground. Meanwhile, his entry mate was winning the race. Trevor never drew the whip and he galloped out past everyone by a pretty good margin. Now Morley stretches him to 1m16 and I think it's go time.
He's not a killer by any means, but neither is anyone he will be facing.
If his price holds near his 8-1 ML I will pay to find out if I had the right idea about his last race.
