If Ranchwest has a tablet and wifi in the hospital, and is accessing this website...THEN he would be risking going insane.

He posted on Facebook updating his condition.

I'm sure, if he had the energy, he would share here as well.

Note: I had his permission before I began this thread.

Major health update

First, my expectation for living is good, so let’s be thankful.

Yesterday, I had a biopsy of my larynx (throat region). Doctors anticipated a positive for cancer and it was. Good prospect for getting rid of the cancer through removal of larynx and voice box.

So, I am unable to speak, but will learn over time.

For business, this presents some challenges for sales and support, but I will work through the issues. For research and development, there should be improvement because I am now breathing well.

I just recently found out about the larynx due to also having a lung issue which has now been addressed.

I know I have many wonderful friends who will look forward to updates. Just please keep in mind that my healthcare will require a lot of time and energy, so please keep questions as low as possible.

Thanks, I love you all.

Learnig curve ahead

Esophageal speech is a skill that can help patients to communicate after a laryngectomy, the most common surgery used for the treatment of laryngeal cancer. In the operation, the larynx and the vocal cords are removed completely. After this, the end of the trachea is sewn onto the edge of an opening cut out at the lower part of the neck, creating an opening (stoma) the patient will breathe from and cough out mucus from. This hole is called a tracheostoma; the patient uses it to breathe through and cough through after the operation.

Today is Wednesday. My surgery to remove the larynx will be Thursday or Monday. Just mostly waiting for now.

I suppose that is Thursday as in tomorrow? I am sure you want to get on with it. I suppose you don't have any projected tee times?
