In the early 1970s, I saw a horse win the Sunday feature at Penn National and come back the next day to win the Labor Day feature at Pocono Downs.

Carlos Figueroa, King of the fairs. I think he thought he was racing dogs.

Back in the 70's a standardbred won a race Saturday night at Yonkers and Sunday night at Liberty Bell. Dont remember the name but Herve Filion drove it both nights.

Rick Dutrow was king of the <5 day layoff! I am pretty sure he won a graded stakes on 3 or 4 days rest.

Trained by Burton Sipp, horses name started with Iron but I cant recall the full name right now. It will come back to me.

Memory came through. The horses name was Steelwood. I think very late 70's

Steelwood. My favorite horse of all time, won tons of races in the mid-Atlantic for all the usual suspects, before breaking down at the Meadowlands.

Back in the 70's and earlier that was not unheard of but I have not seen it in the US in the last few years.

I remember a filly about a decade ago, Indian Tale. Dutrow claimed her and ran her back 3 or 4 days later and she won. She ran another few days after that and finished 2nd. She ran back three days later and was eased.

He had other more successful attempts at really short rest. I think he had a horse run at two different tracks two days in a row, or maybe with a day of rest in between, but my aging brain isn't digging up the name.

Willie Beamin won the Albany on a wed. and came back to win the kings bishop that Saturday. One of my favorite Durkin calls " he barely had a chance to cool off"
