There is no excuse for putting your hands on a woman. Jim Brown was a garbage human being in my eyes.

I saw a cowboys vs browns game in the cotton bowl in the mid 60s. Jim brown broke the nfl single game rushing yards records that day. In the first half

Iirc, he didn't carry the ball after halftime, but I could be wrong on that.

He was a man amongst boys in the NFL.

He would have been able to suit up and play against today's NFL players.

Most amazing stat is he was never tackled for a loss in his entire career.

Some will argue he got too political in his life after football. I say he stood up for what he believed, and didn't give a shit if you liked it or not.

Great man. He'll be missed. RIP Mr. Brown.

generational talent and he worked hard

hall of fame player. He both benefitted from, and fought through adversity and trauma with all the racial bullshit.

whenever a 'generational talent' is a genetics or athleticism thing, these guys could play in today's game. Jim Brown, Wilt, Bo , etc... these guys would adjust just fine, even with the modern weight training and PEDs and advances in skill and changes in rules....

Jim Brown was the real deal.

Richard Pryor had a set where he describes how impactful Jim Brown was to him, counseling him to deal with his addiction problems with freebase cocaine.

and Jim Brown was clearly a flawed man as well.

Maybe he was a peace of shit? I don't know Jim Brown.

Honestly, I don't really care or love or hate a guy like Jim Brown. He was who he was. He was certainly a legendary ballplayer and character. That's about the extent that I reserve a tiny bit of thought towards.

A great man does not put his hands on a woman in anger. Once someone crosses that line they are crap. Just my opinion, but someone who ignores that part creeps me out.

With you 1,000 per cent Inner Dirt.

Jim Brown was a s-bag creep, no two ways about it.

Yes, his athletic skills were extraordinary, but so were Roger Staubach's and Sam Huff's, and both lived civic-minded, successful careers off the field. As many others.

As far as I know, post NFL, Brown's career was just that of a bully, a D-list Hollywood actor, a serial woman-beater and a social critic.:lol::lol:

A great man Jim Brown wasn't. Carrying a football means absolutely nothing, even if he was the very best doing it.
