Let’s start with Ancient Greece. Aristotle, Socrates, Plato. Philosophers whose ideas live to this day. Mathematicians like Euclid and Archimedes. Scientists who invented astronomy. Poets like Homer.
Liberals support the arts, they believe in science. Conservatives think global warming is a hoax, are against vaccines.
Greece was the birthplace of Democracy, ideas were allowed to flow, great advances were made in medicine.
I would bet that Thaskaos would be able to add a great deal to this. |

I've never thought in terms of "Left", or 'Right'...and "liberal" or 'conservative'. My utmost respect and admiration go out to those unconquerable free-spirits out there who dare march to their own drum. They are totally independent-minded, and belong to no orthodoxy or ideology. And when it comes time to voice their disapproval, they stand up and voice it alone...without feeling the need for the safety of the "group". The herd mentality is for the four-legged animals...IMO.
