If they were that desperate he should have applied for asylum in Mexico instead he is now responsible for his daughters death. Sad but true.

Funny how none of these migrants seeking a better life think that Mexico can provide fulfillment for that dream.

davew 06-26-2019 08:06 AM

why couldn't they cross at a border crossing rather than swimming the river?

I always follow the advice from this saying:

from Latin from the 4th century:

"De mortuis nihil nisi bonum"

translation:

"speak only good of the dead"

what I said was this:

"father was desperate to give his daughter a better life"

you are implying that my posting of the photo was disrespectful to him,
I don't think so

the photo has been displayed virtually everywhere so obviously not too many share your view

so, to summarize: it was you who spoke ill of the dead, not me.

Tom 06-26-2019 10:43 AM

He spoke truth,not ill.
She died needlessly.

Propaganda will propagate.

yes, true, but also ill

there are other ways he could have been remembered

he chose to speak ill - that is very obvious to anyone who has a basic knowledge of the English language

Wow... you guys sure are sensitive.

Ban you? :pound:

Why would I do that, or what reason would I have?

Because you don't agree with me? Nobody has ever been banned for that.

Stop being silly.

Parents and children die all the time, for all sorts of terrible reasons. Plenty of them right here in our own country, but you never see their dead photos in the NYT. And you never see them posted here by people like you.

I wonder why.

Oh, I know why...:pound:

you are mistaken

your statement which I quoted is blatantly false

if you care to search you will find an NYT explanation of when they do and do not publish gruesome photos

I doubt you read the NYT

I've got you pegged for the Faux News channel

I said he was responsible whereas you yourself stated he was desperate. Whatever.
