31000 SCIENTISTS SAY NO TO GLOBAL WARMING

These are real scientists, not politicians that are trying to control us through energy control.

Where else are "they" wrong?
On Glen Beck today, a congressman (missed his name) flew to Anwar this week to survey the proposed drilling area. There are no trees within 700 miles of the drill site. There are no wild caribou anywhere nearby.

Remember the fears that the original Alaskan pipeline would hurt the caribou? In fact, the caribou flourished because the oil workers shot so many wolves in the work area.

Now, Nancy Pelosi is all gung ho to save 70,000 barrels a day by diverting them from our strategic oil reserve, and in her math, this will lower the price of gas significantly. We should get 1 million barrels of oil a day out of Anwar, so using her math, imagine the impact this would have.

That is the trouble with this environmental feel good stuff – it never is what they say it is. Not drilling in Anwar is just dumb. Democrat dumb.

We had six years of the other party in control and they didn't drill in Anwar. Why was that?

Strange articles in a way. One of the problems with the earth warming is that it could trigger another ice age. That data has been out there for years. Too much fresh water can trigger a 10 deg drop easily. It has happened before.

they are too late, you are controlled by Muslims.

warming or no warming, doesn't mean a shit to me.
it's a foolish diversion from the serious issues of oil foolishness and the absolute guttlessness of this country to set a bold course off it.

geez , we might fail or the market will handle it.

countrywide abdication of responsible thought is more like it.

No substantiation and until then, it is bunk, pure and simple.

If this were in Scientific American or J.of Nature, then it might be worth some further investigation.

From the NY Times: "Just last week, Senator John McCain of Arizona, a presidential aspirant and the co-author of a bill mandating stronger action, asserted that the argument about global warming “is over.” Back in the day, such words from a conservative Republican would have been unimaginable, even if he were something of a maverick."

Tom 05-21-2008 12:48 PM

Please, 46, John McCain is not a conservative, not even close.
But, that is not the point. The point is the GW supporters have to hurry up and get thier money made now before the next ice age hits.

Nature? See recent issue.

How coincidental that you should mention Nature.

In it's May 1 st issue is the following article:

http://www.nature.com/nature/journal...ture06921.html

That article predicts that there will be no more global warming until after 2015
or later. In fact there has been no global warming this century to date.

"we make the following forecast: over the next decade, the current Atlantic meridional overturning circulation will weaken to its long-term mean; moreover, North Atlantic SST and European and North American surface temperatures will cool slightly, whereas tropical Pacific SST will remain almost unchanged. Our results suggest that global surface temperature may not increase over the next decade, "

Tom,
I have a link to the Bush/McSame challenge if you would like to take it. So you think this global warming is a ploy to make money, what do you think about Iraq ?
Greyfox, You seemed to have missed MAY Not increase.

Not to speak for Tom but I do. Either an outright ploy or a gross exaggeration.

Bottom line here is those of us who disagree with the Gore global warming position and do not believe humans can change the weather have lost the global warming debate. Resistance is futile.

ljb 05-21-2008 04:41 PM

Well then, what is wrong with the free market money making system ? Some made millions off this Iraq thingy.

dav4463 05-21-2008 04:45 PM

We just had the coldest April in something like 200 years. I'm so sick of everything going green! Global warming is a farce.
