DRF RELENTLESS

It's getting harder and harder for me to navigate to formulator cards I've already purchased,. Instead, the DRF website relentlessly directs me to the "plans."

Do any formulator users have the same problem? And if not, can you explain a foolproof way to access my pp's????????????????????

Also, does anyone else find it extremely pushy that the default buy option is for 60 cards with an "auto renew" attached?? C'mon drf, take a deep breath and chill.

LG@DRF 03-07-2018 10:14 AM

The best way to get to the PP's is under the PP's & Products drop down menu. Choose Thoroughbred PP's and when the box comes out click on DRF Formulator PP's. This will bring you directly to the track selection page. If a pop-up appears asking if you want the last plan that you had just click on the Store-that should end the 60 card default offers. If you need anything else feel free to contact me directly at lgoldfeder@drf.com.

I use the DRF App and it does work with my tablet, but that being said is very difficult to use, definitely should be an improved upon App.

It's the browser. Use Firefox. If still having same issue, you can disable a few things that will help. I use lifetime PP's and it's impossible with IE and Chrome. Works perfectly with Firefox. Email me if you still have issues.

Anyone notice in the last several days that on the DRF website they haven't been posting the entries on the day they're taken, and for whatever reason have been posting them a day later? The PP's are available in a fairly timely fashion though. I wonder if this is just a tech glitch, or some annoying move done with a purpose for one reason or another.

Yes, I experienced this for GP PPs last week. I typically leave the complaining about racing to others, but it's almost as if DRF wants to go out of business, from not posting PPs in a timely fashion to making the checkout process totally cumbersome.

Tom 04-05-2018 09:56 PM

Checkout process is a joke.
If you want to buy a Digital edition, you have no idea what tracks you are getting until after you checkout.

Once was the day I bought every DRF file every day of the year.
Now, a handful a year.

The paper issue is a better deal than their digital ones.
You must have to understand that they will never, ever have the races in order. Rocket science, I guess!

Niko 04-05-2018 10:08 PM

I sent them an email this week because for the life of me, I couldn't navigate my way to my Timeform purchase going through drf dot com. It was fairly easy when purchased through drf bets.

It appears they're using the tourist attraction approach to try to get more sales. You have to walk through the the gift shop (again) to get to your purchase.

I finally figured out the multiple click process (why would anyone have a simple button to access your purchases?) to access my purchase after reading a couple of their support emails. One of their suggestions worked and one didn't.

Figured out from their response two days later (which never explained how to access my purchase) and my multiple attempts to get at my data, that their platforms are not integrated.

I had bought from the DRF store years back, was already a TimeForm customer and a new DRF Bets customer this year. Therefore I had 3 separate log-ins which led to a myriad of problems. The log-in I was using wouldn't transfer.

I had a bunch of other frustrations including getting booted out of TimeForm and being asked to pay for a product I already purchased when trying to switch tracks. :bang:

I either go back to Twinspires completely or just buy daily cards the day of through drf bets because it's nice to get reimbursed for your PP's if you bet ((TF not available the day before for their reimbursement promotion)

If you mouse over the picture of the paper in the download area it will blow up the picture and you can see which tracks are in that edition before you purchase.

Tom 04-06-2018 04:30 PM

Except I can't even got to that screen.
I get to see all plans, pick one, and then go to checkout.

Links are harder to fin than the missing linx!

'Usability Testing' seems like an oft disregarded step in web design.

I want to click a page and see an obvious, intuitive layout.

Doing some classes at a community college and spent a good half hour or so on the 'learning curve' of navigating the school website...

hracingplyr 04-06-2018 05:10 PM

Timeform

when I do buy it go to the page where it gives you the 2 free races of the day and when u sign in look at the top. It says buy PP's and you will be all set very easy.

Most of the time the project manager, web designer, and marketing people can't agree on the design. And it costs money to hire a UXA, a person who would actually advocate for the user. Clearly users (customers) are just not that important.

Tom 04-06-2018 05:32 PM

DRF site is too full of crappy stuff to be useful.
NOTHING was ever as well designed as the old BRIS website.
And they changed that!:bang:

between hardcore programmer types, and somebody's nephew landing the gig, it's no wonder.

DRF is such a great brand in the sport. Some of the things such as making public articles so tough to read, and the website issues make no sense.

Tom 04-07-2018 02:56 PM

And having to log in repeatedly is a royal PITA.

ronsmac 04-17-2018 12:44 PM

Relentless is a good description. I've been loyal to the drf for decades, but now I think I've reached my breaking Point. Back in December I ordered the Santa Anita clockers report because it was advertised with an expiration date of June 25th coincidentally June 24th is the last day Santa Anita runs until the fall.Of course I tried to access their reports the other day and I find out there are none and customer service tells me the reports were only for the winter meet, if that's the case why would you advertise and expiration date of June 25th if the last report was going to be for April 8th .It really feels like a bait-and-switch situation and I'm the sucker who fell for it. I'm sure there was some fine print somewhere that I missed but why wouldn't the expiration date be April 8th or April 9th? They got me but they won't get me again.

Tom 04-17-2018 09:03 PM

The first thing I do with my email every morning is delete without opening anything from DRF. Why be tempted to buy something from a proven loser?

DRF reminds me of Wal-Mart during the holiday season, I hate going there, when I get there, something pisses me off, then when I try to check out, it takes longer than it took me to find what I went there for.

cato 04-18-2018 11:30 AM

The drf website is the worst commercial website I've ever seen. Imagine the business they lose and the bad pr they generate by having such a crappy, disorganized, hard to navigate and hard to use web site.

garyscpa 04-20-2018 11:07 AM

As you can see below, DRF has gotten into the habit of charging for 5 cards, and the next day, they'll charge me for another 5 cards, even though I have 4 cards remaining. Their website has gotten worse, especially since the new ownership took over.

Even though I felt completely deceived by their clocker report advertising, I will give them credit for their coupon codes that save on subscriptions , but they can and should do better.

wanted to see the Derby Prep Beyers...

Searched google first to find the page and right-clicked 'open in new window' (won't count this as a step)
  1. Had to click some annoying popup "No I'm not interested" or such about DRFBETS or whatever ADW
  2. had to click 'log in'
  3. had to click 'sign in' (at least it had my pre-saved password)
  4. arrived at the page, had to close some Woodbine ad taking up half screen
  5. looked around, realized that I'm back at the homepage and not the derby watch page
  6. looked back at teh google search (thank goodness i right-clicked that one)
  7. typed "/derby-watch" after drf.com in the url address bar and BOOM! Mission Accomplished!

that was easy

Tom 04-21-2018 02:29 PM

Those annoying pop-ups at DRF are like a Zombie Army - you kill one, two more pop up!

I appreciate your suggestion. I was trying to check out the latest on Derby news, and found out that after a couple articles, DRF came back and said my limit of 30 free articles per month had been met. This was in Chrome.

I tried again using Firefox, and it told me I had 28 free articles remaining, and I was able to get to the article.

Lots of problems with Chrome lately, on multiple sites (like Twinspires) - total train wreck.

AstrosFan 04-25-2018 09:15 AM

At least you can bet $25 a day on DRF bets a get a free form !

Tom 05-01-2018 10:26 PM

OK, those miserable BASTARDS did it to me again!
Last week, I bought a print edition and there was a card inside it. Fill it out and sent in and you get a week FREE Digital editions.

Mistake number 1 - So I did.

I got the promo code today and tried to download Wednesday's paper.
Every time I entered the code and went to check out, the code disappeared and the $6 price remained.

Mistake number 2 - I persevered.

I kept trying for about a half an hour and got nowhere.
Then, somehow, I got a copy of Wednesday's paper to show up. I NEVER agreed to buy it, but somehow, I got charged for it.

Mistake number 3 - I don't own a gun.

What the HELL is the problem with this bunch of f-ing morons????

When I ftst logged in, there was a message that on-line support was standing by and were answering requests every 9 seconds. Then, once I had a problem , the message is nowhere to be found.

Could it be their marketing strategy is to totally piss off people and water their time and then rob them in an attempt to cultivate new customers?

Because that is all I see.

Agreed. If I knew it was still this entertaining I wouldn't have stopped visiting their site permanently sometime prior to Y2K for most of the same reasons.

BlueChip@DRF 05-02-2018 09:06 AM

You can also use the Puffin browser. It doesn't seem to have Adobe/flash issues.

jay68802 05-02-2018 10:32 AM

Don't feel to bad Tom, they charged me $6.00 for reading your post.

Tom 05-02-2018 02:29 PM

Lonnie to the rescue once again!
He got it all fixed.

metro 05-03-2018 10:38 AM

This probably won't affect many that post here, mainly because most who post here seem the type that get the DRF, and do their handicapping, before going to the track.

Anyway, if others are planning a day of racing at Churchill, and use the DRF, be sure and get it before you arrive. They DO NOT sell them on site, which in and of itself is another mind boggling example of the sport tripping over it's own feet.
