Neat story on Zenyatta's personality...

It's a good read, very enjoyable, just like the great mare herself. It also states something about their plans for her the rest of the season...but I won't tell:)

Horse Racing Notebook: Zenyatta a star on, off track | Horse racing | Chron.com - Houston Chronicle
http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl...ce/7129349.html

Excerpt:

An autistic child comes to visit his "friend."
The child contentedly strokes and talks to her. She responds with head bobs and other affirmations. She can't talk to him.
Being a horse has its disadvantages.
Love of people and a buoyant personality are Zenyatta's second- and third-best qualities. No. 1? The 6-year-old mare hates to lose, though she has never tried it. Seventeen races, 17 wins. She will probably go for No. 18 in the next few weeks at Del Mar, outside San Diego.
Flighty types are found in thoroughbred barns. They'll kick or bite without cause. Zenyatta disclaims them as friends or relatives. She thinks she deserves your guest bedroom.
"I've never seen a horse like her," Dottie Ingordo said. Ingordo is the racing manager for Jerry and Ann Moss, who own Zenyatta. Ingordo's husband, John Shirreffs, trains Zenyatta.
The mare is regal, like Hepburn; wholesome looking, like Paltrow; warmly engaging, like Bullock. That last quality sets her apart from so many other Southern California stars.

andy...indeed :jump: she does...because of that, she's the one horse I'd love to spend a little time with...everyone associated with her should count their lucky stars...she's a true once in a lifetime horse!
