Going to start utilizing the built in "User Infraction System" on this board

In short, you'll rack up 1 point for any of the following on the HORSE RACING forums here (off-topic posts will not be subject to penalty points....yet....we will moderate off-topic as usual):
  • Insulting Other Member(s)
  • Inappropriate Language (mainly hardcore-type stuff...stuff *I* wouldn't use)
  • Having your Post / Thread Deleted for violating TOS
If you amass three points in a 10 day period, you get automatically shut down for one day. If you get six points in a 10 day period, you are automatically silenced for five days. Anything above that, and you risk being permanently removed from the active roster.

Sorry it has come to this...and hopefully it's a temporary thing, but I must wrest control back on this board. The moderators need an easier and more defined way to go about achieving more civility around here, because some people obviously don't pay attention to the gentle hints I've been dropping for almost 17 years now.

Note to moderators --> Under every user name on every post you will see the following symbol: http://www.paceadvantage.com/forum/i...infraction.gif

Click the symbol to "award" points to a user following an infraction.

The rest will take care of itself.

Thanks.

The above applies to all registered, active users...even Authorized Advertisers.

Peace out.

When I was a kid, only the cool guys got detention.

I never got detention.

You can tell the creators of vBulletin are soccer fans...

Seems to me that this rule disproportional targets Horseplayers.

Your observation skills are as honed as ever...

Is Mr. Prick 5" the cause of all this?

You mention 10-day periods, so it follows that one gets a fresh slate after 10 days. Or do things accumulate forever?

p.s. I'm just testing the system not the authorities in charge.

Points get subtracted 10 days after they were "earned."

I feel silly even typing the above. It's pretty pathetic what I have to resort to on this website.

The "hardcore" stuff is easy to identify...but I have a hard time understanding what you mean by "insult".

Is it an "insult" to call someone "ignorant"?

That's gotta fall into categories 1 and 2. I'm going to lodge an objection.

It's kind of like that famous line from the Supreme Court and pornography. We'll know it when we see it.

Only category 1. Prick would not be considered inappropriate language in and of itself...not looking to turn this into a "My Pretty Pony" board, after all.

And it's going to be a learning curve for all involved...

But you're correct...let this serve as a warning instead of an actual 1pt penalty Mr. Mertz.

It would be if all you have to back it up is opinion versus fact.

I doubt calling someone ignorant would or should generate a foul.

This isn't going to be an exact science. And it may not even last a day as an experiment. At least you can rest easy in that your "point tally" is not going to be publicly available data.
