I still have not received Jim Mazur's books yet to handicap each race so I will be testing picks until both books arrive

Here are my picks for the 2021 Saratoga Opener!

looks like a soft field, but I respect the :9:St Joe Louis Brown/Brant to have a chance to improve coming into this meet. Should be an underlay even if contending, but you have to respect Brown/Brant


I get the :10: in a vacuum, but I don't see that being a great step forward here. Do not like at all at this price.


:7: Looks like he needs to go longer than a mile, but Clement is capable of moving a horse up.

:1: Gussy Mac is a long shot that could land in the Tri or Su.
