Brad Thomas On Fire At Monmouth

anybody paying attention to this public handicapper at monmouth. he's been on some roll.

he's not trying to sell a sheet, he works for the track and is on their web site and does some selectins on TVG.

he's on some roll for most of the meet. race after race, day after day $20, $10, live horses...all of them.

i don't know if he is just hot but it's soooo refreshing relative to to regular TVG drabble.

Imo, Brad is the best and most comprehensive public handicapper out there. A joy to listen to on the MTH show.

Brad

I worked with Brad for several years and he also did picks for me when I first went into business, he is one of the top handicappers in the country. His picks are not guesses, he does his homework and he's a great race watcher and trip handicapper.

i know how to stop his greatness. all i have to do is start playing his selections and they will stop winning, congradulations to those that listened to his fine advice and made lots of money with it.

i can tell you this, i screwed up the most major score i could ever have made this year in monmouth on in the 6th race, having the winner and not playing the horse that ran second that i had played in his prior race. i was lucky i had a win ticket on the horse, but stupid to not have croaked the race.

Old news for those of us who follow the N.J circuit, Brad.Thomas has been giving out live horses for the last 20 years,(maybe longer) both at Monmouth. and The Meadowlands, probably the best handicapper in the USA.

The great thing about BT is that not only does he give picks, he gives great analysis. He gives you a chance to agree or disagree with the pick. This is rare from a talking head, most of them are just spewing hot air.

I became a fan of his a few years ago after the Breeders Cup was run in NJ.

Brad does a fine job. Certainly does his homework.

Brad's a sharp guy. Unlike most in any gambling field, it's hard to find anyone who has negative things to say about him.

Im surprised he is still around after all of these years. I think he did some handicapping at the meadowlands for sports eye, and i happened to get the paper one day and he picked some maiden horse as his best bet. The horse won by over 5 lengths and paid over $70. This had to have been over 20 years ago.

I remember years ago he did a race by race after analysis for NYRA tracks with Marc Siegelaub. Great stuff such as the differences in off tracks, floating the track, etc.

He is not having a great meet at Monmouth, he throws out alot of angles and once in awhile finds a decent hit. He is a good handicapper though.

i don't know what your definition of "great" is, but if you go back and track his selections (and he makes specific picks in each race) he's doing "pretty damn good".

firstoffclaim 08-10-2010 10:19 PM

He might have gotten hotter as the meet went on, but I followed him early in the meet and he was pretty bad.

I have to agree with the consensus that Brad is a great handicapper. He's one of the few people I really wish would write a book on horse racing (then again maybe not). ;)
