Excel Help!

I am trying to color the 3 highest #'s and ties in each column at the touch of a button. Can I do this with custom formatting or do I have to write a macro? Any help would be appreciated.

Google Docs is very similar to Excel, so using conditional formatting in my Google Docs spreadsheet I used this custom formula to highlight the largest value in a column:

=H6=LARGE($H$6:$H$25,1)

1. Highlight the column
2. Select conditional formatting
3. Custom formula
4. Enter formula
5. Select a color
6. Create a new rule and repeat with the second formula for the next highest value

Change the 1 at the end to a two, add a new rule, and you will get the second largest value:

=H6=LARGE($H$6:$H$25,2)

If your data starts in say, cell H1 then change the H6 to H1. In my spreadsheet I had some headers so I started at H6.

If that formula doesn't work try this one:

=LARGE($H$6:$H$25,1)

Thanks for the info. I will give it a try.
