He was one helluva coach. My condolances to his family.

When I was reading a story about his ascent through the coaching ranks I was amazed how far he was behind Paterno in wins. I thought he was closer than 52 behind. Bowden retired 2 years before Joe. I also missed it that they gave Paterno back the wins they stripped from him over Sandusky.


Great coach and seemed to run a pretty clean program.

great man, great life and he tried to cover the spread always.

you need guys like him to keep peddling your story. without the other side, you will be posting to the same 12 guys that already know the same things that you know. you need this guy and more like him to keep the ball rolling.

You should. Not that anyone cares what I do, but I hardly ever post off topic ,especially politics . It’s a complete waste of storage and time. I’ll bet no one has ever changed anyone else mind. Off topic sports movies or stuff like that is fine. Political is a waste.

"Coach didn't know me from Adam's house cat, but he knew my dad and got word that maybe my mom was struggling a bit back home in West Virginia," Saban said. "I pick up the phone one day and it's Coach Bowden himself. He tells me he knew my dad and said that if I needed to be closer to home, he would make a place for me on his Mountaineer coaching staff. How many coaches would do that? How many people would do that?

Lots of respect for Bobby Bowden. Because of his faith, he would refrain from cursing. You could always tell how frustrated he was by the number of times he said "Dadgum" or "Dadgumit". RIP Bobby!!
