Somebody should read that article to Michael Moore. Or roll up a copy of the paper and try to beat some sense into him with it.
Moore is proposing the 28th Amendment, which would repeal the 2nd Amendment. It would ban all automatic and semi-automatic weapons, mandate that all guns must be "smart guns", and require that all guns must be stored at a licensed gun club or government-regulated gun storage facility and taken out only for hunting or shooting events. Moore says, "Believing that having a gun in your home provides you with protection is an American myth.”
We already have smart guns. Every gun I own is smarter than Michael Moore.

Moore is woefully, demonstrably wrong about that.

I agree with him. That's why I always carry my gun with me. My home is safe. It's the city streets that I worry about.

The day after his proposed 28th Amendment passed, is there any doubt that Moore would be demanding a ban on all bolt-action hunting rifles? After all, that's what military sharpshooters use, and no civilian needs a high-powered sniper rifle.

Chicago is a leading candidate for the title of gun control capital of the country, and few people there have access to that kind of personal protection. The city of almost 3 million does not have a single gun store.
In an average month, there are more murders in Chicago than the number of people just killed in Las Vegas. I don't hear Michael Moore or Jimmy Kimmel or the other experts weeping tears about that.

Rahm Emanuel should read John Lott.

Great point. You know Dinesh Disouza has a good insight on countering this people who are entrenched in great lies: confront them with great truths as in the research based facts illustrated in JR's initial post and yours.
