Betfair exchange application is item 17 on the agenda at the November 18th NJ racing commission meeting. :-)

Betfair is seeking approval of off-time, in running and antepost markets.

It would be really considerate of you to provide the guy with a link. For the life of me I can't understand why you won't help people when you already have the information.

http://www.nj.gov/oag/racing/downloa...118_agenda.pdf

Just think if you were the one who posted the link it would be the first time you would have been right in a very long time.

Don't hold your breath on being able to bet on an exchange.

Once the public meeting is over, the nj racing commision has 30 days to approve or deny the application, then it goes to the nj attorney general for final approval,

Not sure why you think that it won't happen.

The nj horsemen are on board.

The commission will be on board.

The state will be on board.

Betfair already conducts exchange wagering on us races.

My understanding is BetFair feels confident they will have approval by January.

Now keep in mind it would be open to only NJ accountholders.

In terms of tracks they think they'd be able to offer it to any tracks they already offer it on. I do not know all these tracks but I know Canadian and UK customers can bet exchange and in-play on tracks like Woodbine, NYRA and Keeneland.

Essentially this only expands something BetFair already offers in other part of the world.

I was Toronto earlier this year and met a guy who only bets exchange.

I've heard that Betfair is so despirate to get it passed that it is going along with a much higher take out than it charges in the rest of the world. 15 percent or more is what I've heard. 5 percent or less is what Betfair charges elsewhere. That's a huge difference and makes it a non starter in my book.

Nothing has changed in two years. All those groups were on board two years ago. I may be a cynic but I see NJ trying to do a lot of things. The key word here is trying. They have been trying to do things for ever but they never get done. I could write two pages on why nothing happens there. I hope you get your exchange and maybe you will, but I would bet money on it.

at 15%, might as well bet the tote. 15% is way too high. I was thinking more or 7 to 10 would be a good price point.

the selling point of the exchange is that their prices are better than PM, at 15% that would negate some of the advantages of exchange betting.

well actually plenty has changed, the racing commission has codified the rules for EW, public hearing have been held, EW has been discussed and demonstrated at multiple racing commission meeting, betfair has submitted a accurate application which the commission will consider.

All the ducks are in a row.

I guess you deserve kudos for what you stated so I will give you that.

It would be interesting to know what type of tablet you own that can't cut and paste. You don't even have to provide a link just the make and model number will do just fine. I'm always WILLING to HELP others even if it takes a few additional minutes of my time. I'm going to assume that since this was posted you had access to a desktop and could have offered assistance to those who indicate interest on the exchange.

One would think you would want people interested about the exchange to have as much info as needed. Even if it was like China suppressing the news you can list links that are entirely favorable to the exchange and keep the negative ones firmly in your back pocket.

15% takeout, you might as well just mail your money into them. New Jersey residences only.
