Bravo Tucker Carlson....BRAVO!

Tucker seems to be a lockdown denier

highernote 04-23-2020 01:39 AM

A lockdown worked in Gunnison, Colorado during the flu pandemic of 1918.

Wow it's kinda spooky, droping in on pa ot after a long hiatus and seeing the same inanity playing out. Folks arguing with a mindless parrot in the religious tread and good ole PA himself cheering on the destruction of yet another strawman by his mighty rightwing "teammate".Carlson conveniently fails to mention that the "actual" reason for the lock-down was the fear of overwhelming the woefully inadequate and under prepared medical system , and then the mighty warrior proceeds to vanquish the strawman of his own creation. BRAVO indeed

This shows that the lack of "context" missing in a report like Carlson just made is what makes it useless and very poorly researched. I know because I live in one of those states.

Just because there's no "order" for instance, in AR, doesn't mean they haven't pretty much followed everything everyone else is doing.

Most everything is closed except the same "essential" stuff that isn't closed where there ARE orders.

We can go thru a list of every kind of business you want....including some national and state park areas (day use okay, most everything else closed).

Governors in states "without orders" pretty much follow the suggestions of their state health departments and the CDC. That is what my gov's "targetted approach" is ----"Targetted approach" means that they close stuff as they go along, play it by ear but pretty much everything that is closed "where you are" is closed here as well.

For instance he originally set groups at no more than 50.....then changed it to groups of 10 a little while later.

Back in March Hutchinson ordered closure of all restaurant dining rooms, bars and gymnasiums in the state.

He suggested people "enjoy walking, hiking, fishing and other outdoor activities consistent with social distancing."

To respect the separation of church and state, he said he wasn't placing restrictions on churches, but recommended that they also take steps to prevent spread of the virus. When a few didn't, he said: "Our public-health officials have met with [the church pastors], and if they're not going to voluntarily stop the congregational-type meetings, then we'll have to issue a directive."

(good example of why we can't have nice things....people don't listen to suggestions for behavior:bang:).

some golf courses, tennis courts, day use trails, marinas, are open. Some aren't.

I took some time to look around at what was closed or cancelled in AR during the last month or so. All the festivals, dine in restaurants, bikefests, libraries, city programs, schools, art museums, bars, music venues, coffeehouses, theatres, concerts, award ceremonies, colleges, activity centers, gyms, pools, senior centers, casinos, thrift stores like habitat for humanity, pubic pavillions, hair salons, nail salons, barbers and tattoo parlors, citywide sponsored community garage sales, youth sports programs, chamber of commerce events, road races, police balls, sports tournaments, tourist visitor centers, amusement parks, water parks, etc.

Some stores like Lowes have been open, groceries, convenience stores, gas stations, etc of course. TJMaxx is closed. Sally Beauty has curbside service if you order online; Ulta has been closed. Both my Waffle Houses are closed. Arkansas court system has remained open, but the Arkansas Supreme Court has suspended all in-person proceedings in all appellate, circuit, and district courts, with a few exceptions.

Looks similar to many other states. (What they don't do here is order you to wear a mask. Stuff like that.) SOCIAL DISTANCING has been strongly suggested, and when its not happening, there have been directives.

Of course, we don't have huge covid numbers so there is no point. If hutchinson was gov of NYC I'm sure he would have taken a different tact.

Hutchinson just now excluded Barbers and hair salons from May 4 soft-reopening of Arkansas businesses. I disagree with him on that, but overall I like Asa as I've said before.

Anyway, Carlson acting like states w/out direct orders are somehow bucking the trends you see elsewhere, was totally off base and poorly researached.

Be honest now...

Interesting how FanDan says he's swearing off PA and you suddenly show up back here...what a pleasant surprise...double lulz

You've obviously not understood what Carlson was talking about.

Plus, the Wall Street Journal disagrees with you (in a piece updated 3 days ago).

https://www.wsj.com/articles/a-state...ns-11584749351

Arkansas = Few to no restrictions as of 4/20

I suppose they are also off base and poorly researched?

My guess is what Carlson and the WSJ are talking about isn't what you are talking about when comparing states on LOCKDOWN and states not on LOCKDOWN.

What I find interesting is how so many keep saying how much everyone is a sheeple, who listen to the media and that the media is in their head.....

.... then suggest that I should be reading the mass media and watching TV talking heads.

I'm good. I don't need anyone else's eyes and ears to tell me what's going on in my immediate environment, nor regurgitate or interpret it for me. If others wish to sit in front of TV and listen to spin, and/or take marching orders from political parties, they can.

Seems like they are the ones who are "locked down" in many ways, and not just physically.

Righttttttt.....gotcha......then why did you respond in the first place? If you're too cool for school...

Just once I'd like someone to admit when they've misinterpreted something due to their own built-in biases....happens to me...I admit it...happened just the other day in fact on here...

Ironical, FAUX NOOS is dying as it's main audience, elderly white folks kick the bucket.. Seems that Tucker, Sean and Laura are hastening it's demise by encouraging "liberation" form the lock down.

Let me guess, the gave you early release due to COVID?:lol:

The idea as to bend the curve.
How many time did we hear those exact words - bend the curve?

Well, it has been bent.
We never ran out of ventilators, we never ran out of hospital bed.
WE never USED more beds than we did use.

Success. The system was saved.

Time to open back up.

Mission Accomplished.

FOX viewers aren't snowflakes like you are.
We don't fear the virus nor the truth.

Valuist 04-23-2020 12:13 PM

We not only never ran out ventilators, we are finding out that ventilators don't do much good, as 90% on them end up dying. Call it uncomfortable hospice care.
