Just one more tiresome thing about modern day life in america

You've gotta visit urban dictionary every week to understand half of WTF anyone under the age of 40 is referring to.

Talk about learning something new every day. You would think someone my age would have heard just about everything at least once and some in multiple languages.

Almost exactly 10 years to the week of another cheap scummy shot at Ken with a Cal Expo horse.

Robert Fischer 01-10-2021 02:35 PM

More what he felt the need to say in public, than the name itself.

PaceAdvantage 01-10-2021 03:05 PM

Good riddance to this POS I say.

This is angle to look out for. Both horses won.

I noticed that and I also want to correct myself...the race was in July 2010, it was the penalty that was handed down to the owner in Jan 2011.

Good point

You spelled 'oblivious' wrong.

Really? I highly dislike racists. But a sport that routinely pumps horses full of performance enhancing drugs and then says "look, we are expelling this pathetic racist" is just engaging in distraction.

So if the NFL, NBA, Disney (Dwayne "the Rock" Johnson etc), HBO, the Gym down the street, etc, etc, etc... has a member repeatedly spewing racist comments on social media, to ban them, would be engaging in 'distraction'?

Guillot forced his banning with his social media comments.

Comparing repeated racist comments on social media, including announcements in regard to Horse's names, to undetectable substances that are a complex and insidious problem in horse racing, and every profession which offers incentive for physical performance or appearance, is woefully inaccurate. It also borders on the downplay or dismissal of the significance of Guillot's infraction.

If Bud Selig had suspended a .250/10HR hitter in 1999 during the middle of the steroid era for making racist statements, I would say the same thing. Glad he is gone, but this is serious distraction from what the sport needs to be doing.

Yes, I can where suspending an angry, grudge-bearing, twisted racist in a simple decision that's already over is clearly what's been stopping racing from restricting illegal drug use in the sport for the past 40 years.
