Wow, so young. Cause?

kingfin66 04-16-2018 08:53 PM

No cause indicated yet. He was found in his home by police. Much speculation here, but having had an uncle who was found in his home by police doing a wellness check; it was likely a cardiac event. When people die unexpectedly while not under a doctor's care, an autopsy must be completed to determine the cause of death. It can take awhile.

I used to really enjoy Night Court. It was a great ensemble cast with very endearing characters.

He was an underrated comedian.

None given but foul play was not suspected. He was living in North Carolina and the police were called at 6:40 a.m.,so he probably died in his sleep. I didn't realize how much he resembled Dana Carvey until I saw the photo in the obituary link.

Night Court was a huge hit.
I always thought that it was Harry calling the races when Battaglia was doing it - sounded just like Harry.

Interesting how he retired from acting while still a big star. He said he was "richer than Davey Crockett" and opened a magic store.

Good going FanDan ... great episode of Cheers, with the surprise ending.

He seemed like a great guy...and he was obviously a very talented actor and showman. I loved the smart lines that he used...especially the one where he quipped that, "a fool and his money...were lucky to get together in the first place". I stole this line from Harry Anderson...and have been using it to make myself sound smart for over a quarter of a century. Rest In Peace, Harry "the Hat". :(

Thask, thanks for the reminder ... I forgot that great line. :)

FWIW... the racing world recently lost a longtime jocks agent, Harry Hacek, forever and exclusively known as Harry The Hat.

I liked the character he played on "Dave's World" better than the one on "Night Court". Maybe because I'm a big Dave Barry fan.

To Sad, To Young

My wife worked for a large magician's supply, wholesale warehouse. Harry was one of her accounts. She would talked to him, many times during the week. She would come home and Say "guess who I talked to to today" Harry Anderson. They had a good relationship when he had his magic shop.
