Justin Fields or Caleb Williams
As I’m sure you know, the Chicago Bears have the number one pick in this year’s draft. (From Carolina) They also have the ninth pick. Most of the talking heads on sports radio want them to trade Fields and pick Williams. Bears fans seem to be leaning towards keeping Fields and trading the pick.
I strongly support the second option. Trade the pick to the Commanders for the second pick, the second round pick they sent to the commanders and a first round pick in 2025. With this year’s number two pick draft Wide Receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. With the ninth pick select Rome Odunze. You would have two of the top three receivers in this draft class. And you would have a wide receivers room consisting of DJ Moore, Marvin Harrison Jr., Rome Odunze plus whoever else.
I’d like to hear other opinions on the subject.

Rumors floating around here about a trade with New England for Fields. Doubt it will be for the Patriots #3 pick in the first round though. Can see maybe a second rounder this year and next for Fields.

Lived in Riverside mid 60's....on Olmstead. Fell through the DesPlaines river ice.
Anyway, your scenario is a go with me. Hopefully we have a competent backup QB.......it's a long schedule. Let's get the season going.

We have heard those rumors here too. I think you are absolutely correct in your assessment of what the Bears could get for Fields.which does not mean Fields isn’t valuable. With good receivers, with a competent center and any kind of offensive coordinator, I’m sure he can be quite good.
I do think the Bears could use the Patriots as leverage against the Commanders.

You wouldn’t be the first to fall through that ice and you won’t be the last. That kind of indicates you were fairly young. I sent you a PM a few minutes ago.
I think Tyler Bageant is a reasonably competent backup, although not a starter.

Caleb Williams to me has bust written all over him, look how many high draft pick USC QBs have not fared well in the NFL. His highlight reel is nothing but 4 seconds to throw to guys that are college open. I like Jayden Daniels with a flier on Michael Pennix if he drops into the second round. I like Nabers, the kid from LSU at WR over Harrison. I forget what game late in the season it was but Harrison did not turn into a defender and break up a bad pass and allowed a pick. I think that was against Michigan. Nabers on the other hand turns 50-50 balls into 90-10 balls and know how and when to turn into a defender.
I sure the hell hope the Commanders don't trade up and take Williams, if they do that I will scream and cuss so loud I will disturb the neighbors and the nearest one is over 1/4 mile away through thick sound deadening woods.
I want the Commanders to trade down.
Anyone else notice all the mock drafts out there? I have yet to see someone grade theirs after the draft is over.

All the mock drafts I see have the following Top 5:
1) CHI- Caleb Williams QB USC
2) WAS- Drake Mae QB North Carolina
3) NE- Jayden Daniels QB LSU
4) ARI- Marvin Harrison Jr WR Ohio State
5) LAC- Brock Bowers TE Georgia
Right now, I have the exact same Top 4, and then the Chargers instead drafting the best OT in the draft in Joe Alt from Notre Dame.
Should be a fun draft this year. Lots of talent!

Somebody going to end up with a good qb if they let Justin go.
If he had a decent off line …..the sky is the limit

Strangely enough I never say Drake Mae play. Odd that he was a top QB prospect in a neighboring state yet they never put any NC games on broadcast TV.

I saw overall ratings for projected draft picks and Harrison rated number one with Williams right behind him. Cant remember his name, but an LSU receiver rated in the top 5

Had to be Malik Nabers, I like the kid better than Harrison.

Caleb Williams reminds me of McNabb. For better, and for worse.

Simply can't draft Caleb Williams, much less 1st overall. Too many red flags and uncompetitive efforts in his career.
And now this.

Maybe he has a mental defect he does to want exposed. What grown man cries after every loss? Most are pissed off.
