“Clean”. What have you been watching….?.

Psychotic Parakeet 11-18-2021 10:50 PM

I hope you are being facetious with the word "clean"... as that is

I'm pretty sure the announcement of his departure is no more than a PR stunt.
I'll wager that this is totally related to the fact he has had six horses die in his barn in the last 11 months. One just died two weeks ago.

i have no opinion about this guy as a human. I don't know anything about him. 2021 equivalent of railbird gossip + 'rap sheet'. Horse deaths are bad.

handicapping him? He was clearly running a potent barn, but not a guy I was seeing and anticipating a bunch of magic move-ups from. Reasonably reliable, and fairly sporting.

If I buy the accusations as true and unprovoked, that would make him a real asshole, and a bully.

At the very least, he sounds like an abrasive hot head.

We already know that.

I really liked him as a trainer, his magic potions had a lot of predictability to them, he will be missed.

I sometimes have a tough time telling when you are being serious and when you are being sarcastic, but you would not be the first gambler to admit he makes money betting on suspected “magic potion” trainers and is not thrilled when they leave the game for one reason or another. The jockeys, trainers, and owners that have to compete against them have a different view. I’ve been on both sides of it.

He is stepping away just like they always do 1 baby step and a phone

There is no one that has any familiarity with socal racing that thinks he is clean, no one.

I think this guy makes baffert look like a saint.

when betting money you have to separate moral feelings with assessing the betting contest.

I hear you on his “sainthood”.

Personally, I get pissed off in either case, but like you, I bet to win money. I don’t bet against these guys and then whine when they beat me.

my issue is whether or not he's stopping on unsound horses.

His rep on unsound horses is blockers/shock wave therapy.
