Covid is proof positive that the govt is the enemy. Not China. Not Covid. I want our next president to come in and fire every last federal employee and start over from scratch.

Meanwhile on the other side of the world in a country with an 18% vaccination rate
India designed their own their own Peer Reviewed Ivermectin Study looking at Health Care Workers. It was published on Aug 05, 2021 and reached a conclusion that is being completely ignored by policy makers here in the US:
https://www.cureus.com/articles/6480...thcare-workers
Quote:
Conclusion
Two doses of oral ivermectin (300 µg/kg/dose given 72 hours apart) as chemoprophylaxis among HCWs reduced the risk of COVID-19 infection by 83% in the following month. Safe, effective, and low-cost chemoprophylaxis has relevance in the containment of pandemic alongside vaccine.
|
Two States in India, Uttar Pradesh and Kerala, acted on the conclusions of that study.
Uttar Pradesh population 241 million (est 2021) decided to continue using Ivermectin for prophylaxis and early treatment just like they had been doing since about May 11, 2021.
Imo, one of the more interesting things some of the States in India decided to do as part of their Test-Trace-Treat Program is hand out Home Medical Kits to people who tested positive as well as people identified through contact tracing as being at risk of infection.
The cost per Kit is about $2.65 US and each kit contains the following items:
Pulse Oximeter
Digital Thermometer
Paracetamol tablets (15)
Vitamin C tablets (30)
Multivatamin tablets with Zinc (30)
Vitamin D3 tablets (2 packs)
Ivermectin 12 mg tablets (10)
Doxycycline 100 mg tablets (10) (for secondary inection)
Three ply face masks (5)
N-95 Masks (2)
Hand Sanitizer (100 ml)
Alcohol based Wipes (1 box with 20 plies)
Gloves (2 pairs)
But not all of the States in India decided to allow use of Ivermectin.
Kerala population 35.8 million (est 2021) disallowed use of Ivermectin for prophylaxis and early treatment on Aug 06, 2021 (the day after the peer reviewed study on Ivermectin was published.)
Comparing the Covid caseload data for Uttar Prashesh vs. Kerala:
According the Johns Hopkins University CSSE Site - this is the current data for Uttar Padesh:
https://coronalevel.com/India/Uttar_Pradesh/
Quote:
Development of number of Coronavirus cases: Uttar Pradesh, India
In Uttar Pradesh there have been 1,709,917 confirmed cases of COVID-19. Currently about 210 people are sick, that is one in every 930,000 inhabitants.
The current incidence is 0.1 new cases per week per 100,000 inhabitants*.

According the Johns Hopkins University CSSE Site - this is the current data for Kerala:
https://coronalevel.com/India/Kerala/
Quote:
Development of number of Coronavirus cases: Kerala, India
In Kerala there have been 4,763,695 confirmed cases of COVID-19. Currently about 210,000 people are sick, that is one in every 160 inhabitants.
The current incidence is 248.0 new cases per week per 100,000 inhabitants*.

Obviously health officials in Uttar Pradesh India have been going about this all wrong.

Fake news! Cannot possibly be true. How often have Fauci and the CDC and others told us how safe and effective the vaxxes are?
P.S. Has this story been peer reviewed? There must be a ton of fact checkers out there investigating this as we speak.

Pointing to a statistical OUTLIER does not reflect the overall situation...Learned that from Malcom Gladwell's great book by the same name.
The hospitalization rate among fully vaccinated people with COVID-19 ranged from effectively zero (0.00%) in California, Delaware, D.C., Indiana, New Jersey, New Mexico, Vermont, and Virginia to 0.06% in Arkansas. (Note: Hospitalization may or may not have been due to COVID-19.)
The rates of death among fully vaccinated people with COVID-19 were even lower, effectively zero (0.00%) in all but two reporting states, Arkansas and Michigan where they were 0.01%. (Note: Deaths may or may not have been due to COVID-19.)

About 436,711 people have been fully vaccinated in Vermont. The breakthrough cases represent a small portion, about 0.3%, of the fully vaccinated population.
Since January 2021, 6.5% of cases among Vermont residents have been fully vaccinated.
There have been 30 hospitalizations and 10 deaths among the 1,209 cases of vaccine breakthrough in Vermont. that is 0.00827 of the total.
Meanwhile, the age range of COVID cases has shifted in August. Now in August, cases are most prevalent in the 30-39 age group (55.8 per 100,000) and 0-9 (53.2/100K). But overall since the start of the pandemic, the 20-29 age group has by far the most cases (65.9/100K) followed by 10-19 (55.3/100K) and 30-39 (51.2/100K). The 0-9 age group is at 36.5 per 100K. Those under 12 are still ineligible to receive any vaccine.
The VDH did not offer an explanation of why there was been a shift in cases in August.

From the quoted inital article " just eight of the 33 Vermonters who died of Covid-19 in September were unvaccinated, the Vermont Department of Heath said Wednesday.
Health Department spokesperson Ben Truman said most of the vaccine ‘breakthrough’ Covid-19 fatalities were elderly. Because they were among the first vaccinated, Vermont’s elderly “have had more time to potentially become a vaccine breakthrough case,” he said.
“For example, there were a total of 33 deaths (as of 9/24) among fully vaccinated people since January. This is a fraction of a percent of the vaccinated population – now nearly 450,000 people age 12 and older. This is an indicator that vaccines are working to protect the vast majority of Vermonters from the worst outcomes.

In other words, for the other vaxxed fatalities, their vaxx failed them miserably because it "leaked" out. Really Kool drugs.

This post above is useless . It talks of cases amongst younger people growing, but Dave's link quotes a medical professional's concern of older people dying from covid . Again, cases don't mean spit. Why do liberals reply nonsense to facts?

Vermont’s always an outlier. It’s weird
My wife grew up there. I used to travel there once or twice a year. Haven’t been for at least ten years now. The biggest complaint I used to hear from Vermonters was ……..
“Damn New Yorkers buying up the whole state!”
