Lots of time and room for improvement.

Coliseum is currently 1/9, so any ideas of betting him are gone. I did get some money down on him in the future book.

Jocko, was this your doing?? ;)

Tom 11-17-2018 03:36 PM

Off to a good start.

(first glance, not a replay trip review)= brushed the gate , may have slightly stumbled, moved to the lead, pulled away, looked perhaps slightly off on his footwork on the turn but he changed leads smoothly and didn't get tired

he's certainly a monster

his big stage success will depend on (health, obviously, and) how much more professional and efficient he can become

Watched the replay 3x. Came to much the same conclusions, hard right outta the gate went to the lead and and never looked back. 22.88 46.11 1:10.72 1:23.13.

Hoped the final time would have been a tick quicker but very impressive for only having his reigns shaken a couple times in the straight.

Visually Impressive. We have to see what the #'s come back.

Worth a 50 spot for 1250 after seeing that.

Bob Hope Stakes later on the card for 2yo stakes runners. Should be a pretty straight forward comparison.

The way Coliseum ran today seemed to "Justify" my earlier statement about him:lol::lol::lol:

cj 11-17-2018 07:08 PM

Coliseum 0.38 faster than the stakes race.

bobphilo 11-17-2018 07:12 PM

Colosseum ran a bit faster but Mucho Gusto had to set a faster pressured pace, but Colosseum finished with more in the tank, plus this was his 1st race. Should be interesting to see who gets the best pace adjusted figure. Hope cj posts them.

That was not the # I thought you'd get because Coliseum was barely trying and Mucho was all-in to hang on, and the 1 was coming a little, but nothing was coming at Coliseum.

Pretty impressive.

Looking at how fast Baffert trains his horses in relation to their races reminds me of Tiberius back in ancient Roman days. Before he became Emperor, he was a successful general and they said his training exercises were like bloodless wars and his wars were like bloody training exercises.
