:1: was clearly ahead in my opinion both live and frame-by-frame replay. Frame before and frame after on youtube both show the :1:

My guess is the stewards chose dead heat because it was close enough to be contentious if they gave it to the :1:.

But on the issue of their explanations, yes, the CHRB performed very poorly. Basically the farther away you get from regular procedure, the more explanation that is owed the public. People are betting on these races, and are entitled to that.

You know how they came to do what they did? That's laughable. They lied and then changed their story when they realized people were not accepting their lies.

As cor the topic at hand...its an inexcusable mistake and hopefully one that will be corrected going forward.

I call it incompetence.

Thank GOD OP and TAM are running now.

Not sure I'd point out Tampa and Oaklawn as competent tracks.

You would be dead wrong to think they're not....

What is competent about them?

Oaklawn has allowed cheaters to do whatever they want for years.

Tampa is just as bad.

Hmmm, let's be up front first, what was your previous screen name?

What tracks are catching cheaters? I would think all tracks don't want cheaters but don't have the capability and resources to catch them. How are Oaklawn and Tampa different than others?

There are a lot of sports in the same boat, by the way.

So they are just as bad as everyone else?

Like I said, not sure I'd point them out as competent.

I don't know how to catch them. It took the FBI to get a few of the bigger ones, no? I don't know a ton about Tampa, but Oaklawn does a lot of things right.

Like?

Allowing Baffert, Diodoro, etc, etc to do as they please is a bad look.

If its so well regarded by bettors wouldn't their handle be better?

I guess satisfactory in its racing product is an endorsement.

By your criteria wouldn't all of the NYRA tracks be competent?
