HRTV Broadcast: Not enough talk about the Gambling?
 

The broadcast is kind of the opposite of TVG where they constantly talk about the Gambling. HRTV has gotten some complaints after the first couple of day and I'm told they might adjust the broadcast a little today. They never mentioned the low takeout (14%) P5 during the first two days and although I like the overwhelming majority of the on air personalities I think they need to do a little more talking about the gambling.

They probably want to stress the big major days with the sport and fun for all angles, Andy.
Mr. Mark Verge is doing a fantastic job of marketing Santa Anita, I was very impressed this weekend. They are going to have a really great BC Day.
Del Mar markets like this and we know how successful they are, at least on the big days.

I agree, the 14% takeout should be HEADLINED.
It is probably the fairest gamble there is for the players.
Of course, so.cal.fan has been a "fan" of 10% takeout on bet, I have believed this since the 1960's. Now more than ever.
Racing should be the BEST GAMBLE in town........

I like Verge as well. He always is willing to talk about anything to improve handle and improve the game.

It will be interesting to see how they lead up to the first race today.

Lead up to the first race today by talking abou the horses in it.

We get litte race coverage as itis, wasting the time talking polotics is no way to treat your customers. I seriously doubt anyone betting the races complained because they did not talk about the take out.

They got a firestorm of complaints about the way the racing was telecast but they adjusted and it's better today.

I think they'll do well from here on out.

i don't have dish network. i could get So. Cal tracks streaming, but i don't bother. since its not on TVG, i don't bother looking at the tracks and don't bet anything on it.

They're changing their broadcast a little so give it another chance. There was a big dust up today over what Gamblers want on the broadcast. They get it now.

I watched HRTV all day - not a thing wrong with their coverage.

You're telling me that a firestorm of viewers complained that the take out was not discussed? I cannot buy that. Maybe it was you and Stein calling in, but I can't believe many people give a shit about that being talked about.

I cant believe people complain that take out is not discussed. Give me a break. This whole thread is pointless. HRTV does a good job and nothing was broken. And Im sure those that complained play Parx! :sleeping:
