The Downsides to Wearing the Symbol of Fear on Your Face
Neurosurgeon Says Face Masks Pose Serious Risk to Healthy People
Every Karen on Facebook is shaming her neighbors for not wearing a face mask. We are being told by governors that if we don’t wear them we are selfish, horrible human beings with no souls who want Grandma to die a horrible death. Police are tackling people who don’t wear them properly in the subway. Grocery stores are throwing maskless people out and denying them service. But now, there’s another doctor weighing in—besides Dr. Fauci, bonafide sex god and ruler of us all, who also said face masks are largely security theater and of no use to the healthy. Dr. Russell Blaylock, a neurosurgeon, has written an editorial addressing healthy people wearing masks to protect themselves from COVID-19 and his advice is: don’t.
First, Blaylock says, there is no scientific evidence that it is effective against COVID-19 transmission. Pro-science people should care about this.

Since it’s an airborne disease, don’t masks contain ones breath to a reasonable level.
Common sense would dictate that masks have some value to prevent disease. Why would surgeons wear them if they had no value.

On the internet you don't have to search very long to find someone, doctors included ,stating something that agrees with your position on any subject. From UFO's to viruses, to the price of tea in China.

The vast majority of the populace isn't wearing medical/surgical grade masks! If they were, why would so many state require everyone to mask up when they're out!? The states' rationale behind masks is that the wearer is protecting other people, which is totally ass-backwards! Real medical grade masks are designed to protect the wearers, not other people.
I pointed all this out early on during this fake crisis.

Ditto for the real world!
But what the good doctor says makes eminently good sense, most especially since the vast majority of people are wearing crap on their faces that don't protect them but who are conned into believing that they do protect others, thereby inducing false guilt in people for not "doing their compassionate part" for their fellow man by wearing a mask, not to mention inducing the mask sheeple to publicly shame and criticize critical thinkers for not wearing theirs!

Wrong!
Surgeons wear masks to protect the patient on the table. Ordinarily the various microorganisms in exhaled breath are not dangerous to others. But during surgery the body cavity is opened and vital organs that would normally be protected by the skin are open to outside infections which they can't fight off.
In the case of Covid-19 the idea is to contain the virus to persons who already have it, albeit they may be only carriers. There is some protection afforded the wearer but this is secondary.

Of course it makes sense to the layman. Also, I know he's a doctor, but a neurosugeon. I'd be more inclined to seek out advice from someone more associated with respiratory disease control in general.

You're as thick as your soul mate Hcap! I have posted on this before. Surgical mask are designed to protect the wearers!
[i]N95 respirators and surgical masks (face masks) are examples of personal protective equipment that are used to protect the wearer from airborne particles and from liquid contaminating the face. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) also regulate N95 respirators. (emphasis mine)
https://www.fda.gov/medical-devices/...sks-face-masks
At the very best, all other masks can play a limited role in helping to mitigate the spread of the virus. At best.

I'm sure you would. What the heck would a neurosurgeon know compared to any layman?

They are telling us NOT to use them.
Science is a wonderful thing.
Especially if you are a gullible lemming.

So how does a layman, like hcap and Al99 have the "expertise" to identify the "experts" that THEY qoute and call us morons for picking others?
|
The guy in NY telling us to wear masks is the same guy killed killed 5200 elderly people by making STUPID and UNSCIENTIFIC decisions.
Wold we not be fools to follow the advice of a man obviously as ignorant as Coumo? A murderer?

You're always looking for a fight ! GEEZ! I was comparing the expertise of a neurosurgeon to that of a respiratory specialist in pertaining to Covid-19., not a layman.
