Playing Hearts online

I recently learned how to play the card game Hearts...now I spend some time playing online at
https://www.playhearts-online.com

What are your strategies for winning...also what other card games do you enjoy playing, other than Poker and gambling games...?

I love playing hearts against the computer. May give your link a try, thanks.

But I know that my skill has been dulled because the windows versions are too easy to beat. Playing live people would be completely different.

Pitch

4 and 5 point are legit

10 and 13 point are partner games for 4 people.

In between

Probably the cruelest most maddening game on the planet

Everybody throws in $5 into the pot, and then you start going around the table.

Dealer throws down 2 cards. You have to decide if the next card is "in between" those two. You can wager whatever portion of the pot you want. 1/4. Half. All. Even $2, which is what most will do.

If you pass, you have to throw a $1 into the pot regardless.

If you do wager, and a card comes up that is the exact same as one of the 2 cards that you are trying to "inbetween", then you have to double the wager that you made and put it into the pot. You can always wager what is in the pot.

Played a 4 man game in college one night. Ace/Deuce came up in a $750 pot. Guy potted it and the next card was an Ace. He ripped the door off his bathroom and punched a hole in the immediate wall.

Good times were had by all.

In Between...

Reminds me of the time I spent dealing Farobank in Las Vegas.

In sixth grade, at recess, practically all the males would file into the boy's restroom where we would PITCH Nickels, dimes and quarters in clandestine tourneyments. There was usually upwards of $5 to $10 up for grabs each round...it was huge money for those of us who were any good at it...it usually required a " leaner" to win....

Later, in 7th, 8th, and 9th grade we took up poker and "In Between" two of my pals, one an Armenian, the other Chinese, became hooked on attempts at Potting, they usually lost their shirts.... Great fun back then...
