Transgenders in Women's Sports
I am appalled by the Olympics Committee decision to allow transgender women to compete against biological women if they have been on testosterone blockers for 12 months. These women have had tons of male testosterone flowing through their bodies all their lives from the time they were in utero and having it blocked for a year will not reverse some of the changes in their bodies. Just for one example, women have wider hips for childbirth, which are a disadvantage in running and anyone born a man will always have the advantage of narrow hips in running events. About 2000 men have beaten the women's 1000 meter world's record. It is estimated that over a hundred male tennis players could beat Serena Williams, arguably the best women's player ever. Imagine a woman having to box a transgender born a male.
In horses, geldings cannot compete in filly and mare races even though there is much less sexual dimorphism (differences in the sexes) in horses than in humans. In one race for F&M they snuck in a gelding who won easily and there was a scandal.
