Transgenders in Women's Sports

I am appalled by the Olympics Committee decision to allow transgender women to compete against biological women if they have been on testosterone blockers for 12 months. These women have had tons of male testosterone flowing through their bodies all their lives from the time they were in utero and having it blocked for a year will not reverse some of the changes in their bodies. Just for one example, women have wider hips for childbirth, which are a disadvantage in running and anyone born a man will always have the advantage of narrow hips in running events. About 2000 men have beaten the women's 1000 meter world's record. It is estimated that over a hundred male tennis players could beat Serena Williams, arguably the best women's player ever. Imagine a woman having to box a transgender born a male.

In horses, geldings cannot compete in filly and mare races even though there is much less sexual dimorphism (differences in the sexes) in horses than in humans. In one race for F&M they snuck in a gelding who won easily and there was a scandal.

Not to worry, this situation will self-correct in a few years or Olympic cycles.

I can guarantee you that mares compete against male horses in Olympics.

So you are saying Olympic women are horses?

That is idiotic.
Worth boycotting the Olympics for.
Every cell in their body has a "Y" chromosome.
If the Olympic Committee wants to pretend that their females, that's on them.
I, for one, won't pretend that they are.

I don't recall Renee Richards winning Wimbledon.

This 1970's moment was brought to you by your neighborhood CB radio dealer. :)

Conservatives are easily offended.

The whole idea is dumb and anyone with a normal working brain knows that.

Indeed they do. I should have specified horse racing.
In horses there is not much sexual dimorphism since both sexes have to be able to run fast to survive. Way back in our primitive past men and women evolved for very different roles. Men had to be fast and strong for the hunt while women had childbearing and rearing responsibilities

Renee Richards was in her late 40's and way past her prime when she played as a woman.

Rapper zuby broke the wommen's world deadlift record while identifying as a woman to show the absurdity of the whole thing.

Seriously, a couple of trans "girls" won the state high school track championships against biological girls in Connecticut setting a state record. The worse thing about this is that some really worthy girls will lose out on possible athletic scholarships because of this.

According to Wiki, he / she never competed at Wimbledon.

why does this hipster-intellectual bloke have to 'dress up like a' -- rapper -- to get a break?

jaxtrotter 03-19-2019 01:15 PM

This exactly.

Imagine training since middle school to make the state championship, only to be smoked by a trans-female who was a middling male sprinter the year before.

CT is one of a dozen states that allows sports participation by identity. Others are more stringent, such as Texas which goes by sex on original birth certificate.

The track careers of those young women are by no means over, just temporarily hobbled until they get to the college ranks.

Personally, I would go identity and a hormone level test. Both must match readily accept norms to participate as a certain sex.

Marshall Bennett 03-19-2019 02:33 PM

Wonder if its chaotic in the dressing rooms? :)
If they requested their own, some stupid liberal in charge would gladly give it to them.
