Why would someone who has nothing to hide and was acting in self defense have to lie about anything?

Either that, or perhaps he believes he won't receive a fair trial given all those who have already convicted him in the mass media and elsewhere...just playing Devil's Advocate...no need to get alarmed...

Who are these Floridian hacks? You're telling me that when a judge decides a bail amount they ask, How much money ya got?

Isn't bail to ensure they show back up for court? Anyone concerned Georgie is gonna skip let me know. I like to keep track of the dunderheads around here.

newtothegame 06-02-2012 04:50 AM

Yeah, I have to agree with Mack here.
This guy (Zimm) has had more then enough time to skip if that was the intent.
And, again, I didn't realize that bail was based on how much one had in a bank account. Obviously, neither did Zimm nor his attorney lol.
But, he will turn himself back in, repost bail, and back to a waiting game......

The amount of money you have is always a consideration for the bail. I can't believe anybody doesn't know that.
The fact that he was caught red handed lying raises questions about his truthfulness of his other statements especially since some of what he reportedly said is bit far fetched to say the least. I expect a different spin on the events by his lawyers when trial begins.

JustRalph 06-02-2012 05:12 AM

It's bullshit

The reason the judge is pissed is because they have tapes of him and his wife talking about keeping the money secret, while she was visiting in jail.

He screwed up. But it really shouldnt matter. I would think if he was going to run, he would have by now. If his attorney had balls he would bring up the fact that he now controls the money, and ask for a bail reduction

I can't believe you continue to come up with absolute foolishness, yet it happens all the time....
Here, is a legal site which talks about bails and how it is determined. Now, with the understanding that each state may have it's own rules and guidelines. Nowhere in this article do I see anything that says based on one's ability to pay or how much they have in a bank account....
Determining Bail

"Courts take several considerations into account when deciding how much bail the accused must pay to get out of jail. For common crimes, many courts use a "bail schedule." Bail schedules consist of a list of crimes and the amount of bail that must be posted for those crimes. While they are widely used for more common crimes, bail schedules do not cover all offenses; when a person is accused of a crime not covered by the court's bail schedule, the judge will determine the bail amount that must be paid."

"The amount of bail money held by the court depends on a number of factors, including the severity of the crime, prior convictions and the potential risk of flight. If the accused appears at the required court hearings, the court refunds the money to the person or company who provided the bail. If the accused does not appear, the court keeps the money."

http://www.yourlegalguide.com/bail/#schedule

Now again, this may vary from state to state and as the article states, it would be wise to check with a bail bonding agency. And, as Ralph mentioned, I am sure the judge is just pissed this wasn't disclosed during the hearings.
You wont get this part, but remember, the media has already rendered their verdict with their news stories. The state has rendered their opinion with the second degree charge. Problem is, a JURY hasn't renedered any verdict as of yet!

Worse than a fixed race isn't it. I'm sure we can find a personal attack in here somewhere.........

So nobody has ever gotten their reduced because they couldn't pay? I know of 2 such cases where in Nebraska alone without even thinking about it. One involved a brother of a high school classmate who was charged with manslaughter. I do not remember the exact numbers. But they were lowered considerablely after he spent a week in jail because his family could not raise the first bail amount. His charges were eventually dropped after a year of legal wrangling.

Yeah...why, for one second, would the guy contemplate fleeing?
The system will protect him.
I forgot.....

PaceAdvantage 06-02-2012 11:20 AM

The media plus all the hangers-on must be licking their chops waiting for the start of this trial...

I've taken notice you throw no shortage of little zingers with little rhyme er reason.

Please, give us more substance of this 'system' that is out to protect him. Further, bring some substance to the rationale of him fleeing.

Be nice to see some of these loopy, truncated statements around here, called out for what they normally are. NUTS.
