I think this is getting out of control, the very same people who hate the President show up here to share their venom. You folks should get over yourselves, no disrespect to you Mike but such posts influence no one at all. It only serves the joy of rubbing salt into your wounds come the next stinger that will be dealt to you. Myself personally I find it more interesting than fourth of July fireworks or the Macy's day parade that I lost all interest for as a kid. It could be a bust and never be done again or take off and be a popular thing folks enjoy, I am open to finding out.

We aren't some military dictatorship that needs to intimidate it's own population or the world.

Also, for whatever reason, it's just something Americans don't do. They are not very common throughout our history aside from victory parades.

Has nothing to do with pride or patriotism. America has just never seemed to need them to embody those things.

Precisely my point. Honoring our veterans or those currently serving is fine
as a part of a larger celebration or parade.

Also Trump wanted to have a military power parade as part of his inauguration. No other president has ever tried to do that.
