There is no shortage of bad drivers/trainers and questionable decisions in harness racing, we have questionable drives by many drivers most nights....I watched McNair take a horse that normally does not run on the front right to the lead and does the first qtr. in 25.4 and sets it up perfectly for the longest shot on the board to get up and beat the heavy favourite....the exactor paid over 600 bucks I am willing to bet there were lots of happy people in the barn after that race! Fillion is no different than any of the other drivers but he wins 49% and is ITM at 87% on favorites which is better than the top 3 drivers at Mohawk...
Personally I have stepped back a bit from harness racing in the last few weeks because of some questionable stuff.....I thought the regulators cleaned it up a bit but there is still lots of room for improvement!
One of my biggest pet peaves is a trainer running horses in a race purely as a training mile...it happens far too often for my liking!
